  • I got triggered by the call sign which include PYE and at qrz.com I also discovered Camb.

During my qrl period I frequently visited PYE Unicam in Cambridge as Area manager for Philips XRay analysis.
Earlier I have been in Stevenage for PYE Ether.
Had to transfer the Electro Chemistry activity from Almelo to Stevenage.
However my first visit to England was in 1946.
Children that suffered from WWII could stay in England for 3 months.
My father had to pay for this about € 22,-.
Stayed in Wakefield and in Huddersfield and had a wonderfull time.
The first time I met the English was in september 1944 when brencarriers stopped in front of our house and this was the frontline.
Later we were evacuated to Belgium.

Thanks for the interesting meeting on 20 meters.
